Use QuarkXpress, Indesign, Freehand or Pagemaker for layout - or supply Press ready PDFs.
Add minimum 3mm bleed all round.
Supply all fonts and images used in the job. Avoid truetype fonts if possible.
Supply hard copy colour proofs with the job.
Do not layout jobs in Photoshop as text will not be as sharp as in a page layout programme particularly text generated from four colour black.
Do not layout jobs in Illustrator if possible. Files are huge especially if there are a lot of colour images. These types of file take a lot longer to go through the RIP process and slow things up!
Do not layout jobs in Microsoft Work or Excel - these may open differently on our computers to yours.
Jobs should be designed on the appropriate page size. Don't float it in the middle of an A4 (or other size) page with hand drawn crop marks.
Do not supply printer spreads - City Print will impose the job.
